Yahoo! / Purina Pet Food – Pet Weather Widget

By | | No Comments

wObjective:

Yahoo! and Purina Pet Food hired us to concept, design and develop a PC and Mac compatible desktop widget to increase online brand engagement with Internet-savvy pet owners.

Solution:

We delivered a next-generation solution that integrated a database into a widget. It was the first of it’s kind. The Purina Pet Weather Widget delivers over 200 different content feeds (“Speak bubbles”) that change based on temperature and weather conditions. Users simply upload their dog or cat’s picture to the desktop widget and, as the weather changes, the pet “speaks” to them using humor to relay information based on current conditions.

Results:

The Pet Weather Widget was an instant success. Yahoo! users immediately gave it four-out-of-four stars and have download it nearly 45,000 times (From Yahoo!) since launch. Considering this widget lives on their desktop, this was an incredible win for Purina in terms of constant brand exposure and entertaining engagement. Apple developers also placed it at the top of their favorites list. That’s the kind of results that energizes the staff at TagTeam Advertising Agency.

Hertz Rental Car / Neverlost GPS System

Objective:

Long before the Waze App, there was Neverlost. Hertz Rental Car tapped TagTeam Creative to increase awareness and usage of the Neverlost OTP/ANS to customers.

Solution:

Frankly, our solution was way ahead of it’s time.  Not only did we develop a useful set of features for the driver by adding “near me” pop up pins that displayed popular stores and restaurants nearby, but created the first monetization model by introducing new revenue channels through in-car, in-GPS (now in-App) advertising leveraging the Neverlost GPS platform and display screen

We spent weeks designing the User Interface and User Experience to make it as unintrusive and seamless as possible.

Results:

Despite months of trying to sell the concept to Hertz, they ultimately succomb to the pressures of their legal team, and did not implement it due to fears of being sued from distracted drivers – missing a huge financial opportunity.
